Hey, voice artists! How does your workspace look like in 2025?

Most voice artists work from the same place they live in. That’s why I find it important to design our workspaces in a way that feel comfortable and resemble us, at the same time.

This blog is not meant to talk about what’s inside the vocal booth, but rather what’s outside it. The place where you, as a voice artist, stay for hours sending your marketing emails, managing your finance, updating your CRM, and creating your social media content. However, you can still know about my equipment here, and take a tour in my home studio here.

I believe that every person has his own elements that makes him/her comfortable. For me, I love to see sunlight, and feel the warmth, while I am working outside the booth.

Because this is my own space, I created a version that looks like me. Starting from the color of the walls and how the ceiling looks like, as well as the rugs (Egyptian hand-made rugs).

To even the entertainment spot that I created for unwinding times. This spot is placed near the window, and has puzzles (Ghiblis are my favorite), old issues of Mickey magazine, and a mini keyboard I practice on.

Creating a good workspace is like creating a good system that helps you achieve your goals and win the game. Voice Over is no exception. So, I considered organizing everything in place so it is easy for me to access. I hired a carpenter to build a wooden storage with drawers and decorated with lovely cane wood. Inside it, I placed all the extras like: extra cables, audio interfaces, windscreens…etc., so I save space inside the booth.

I had my own bookshelf, where my favorite and new books go under classified genres, between voice over, fiction, non-fiction and self-help.

And last thing, a desk, and a comfy chair for all admin stuff and purposes.

I also like to make my goals “obvious” and right in front of me to constantly refresh my goal-oriented mindset. That’s why I write them on a white board facing me, along with motivational quotes that address my current status and mood.

Finally, I’d like to mention a quote from Atomic Habits that solidifies the concept of creating your own workspace.

“The purpose of setting goals is to win the game. The purpose of building systems is to continue playing the game”.
